Megacon 2011: Should be there....

I should be at the already sold out San Diego Comic-Con this summer, 2010. Hoping to possibly be on the No Ordinary Family panel and premiere as I was the artist of record for the show , being the REAL artist for Mike Chiklas, who plays an artist, police sketch artist to be exact. That came about after playing the courst sketch artist in the David Tennent pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer by the same production company but that one wasn't picked up. Been getting to do art for televiision more often now, as I did art for 3 different episodes of Medium (one being a comic), and caricatures for Greek as well.

Just worked the film Atlas Shrugged as an onlooker to a fire. couldn't find myself in Iron Man 2, so it'll take the DVD to see if I'm visible at all in that one. And maybe I'll be visible in January as a reporter at a press conference with D.A. Scanlon who his being questioned on this new character in town, The Green Hornet..And with my history of being the longest running artist of Star Trek in comics and having been trained as an actor by the late Mark "Sarek, Spock's father" Lenard, I finally got to be in front of the camera thanks to a featured spot in the 2009 Star Trek courtesy of J.J.Abrams, who knew my history, and I became Lt Commander of Engineering (yes, a redshirt) on the USS Enterprise. Some previous better cool sightings were in Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories (I can be seen in the opening banquet at Nottinghams going to my seat and in it to the right of the stage, Between Adam and Nottingham's daughter in the western sequence down the main street arguing with a woman, and extremely clearly in the final Luau anquet, first sitting at a table, and then when Mr Nottingham's birthday cake is brought out and Adam (Skeeter) decides to put it out with dire consequences, I can be seen clearly to the right of Adam reacting to what happens), and I'm clearly visible in the final confrontation in the film Hotel For Dogs fighting for the kids and the dogs right behnd them.

For this past season, now that I'm SAG, I played the Tailor for the undercover group, NCIS:Los Angeles for the whole season and should be back when we resume next month. I really am ripping seams and re-sewing them when you see me up there behind Linda Hunt and company. Method acting. Was a regular on Scrubs for its last season, but that's gone now. I was missing in action for all but a brief shadow cross on the first episode of last season's Grey's Anatomy, courtesy of going SAG, but the 1st AD has promised to get me back there for the upcoming season. Maybe my friend Patrick Dempsey could help as all of a sudden , now that Marvel/ Disney has announced a Doctor Strange film, the promo piece that I did for him a good year and a half ago is all over the net. One flaw in the story was that the pic got him a meeting with Marvel but the reality was that we did the pic AFTER he had a meeting with them as they weren't persuing the project at that time, so I figured lets do a little net-based virile marketing to keep him alive in connection to the project. Now 18 months or so later, it's really gone virile, and the picture has been "whipped out" for the masses. Overnight, 18 months later... (and what's with this pledging myself bit...?)

Anyway, some of the "Spot the Arne" bits from Grey's would be in the episode of Grey's Anatomy (5x10), I can clearly be seen sitting in the OR gallery behind and between Mellisa and Chyler for the whole sequence.Previously on the December 6th episode of Grey's Anatomy (4x10 Crash Into Me Part 2) Administrator Richard (Jim Pickens Jr) actually sends me off to get an item during an emergency by calling me by name and I did a little "uh-huh" that was audible as well. So I'm now "Arne, the attending physician" on Grey's. It's a cool thing. Though for some cockamamie reason for the 2nd time now IMDB has removed the credit. They are getting really annoying, with about half the credits up there put up by someone else and they refuse to remove or alter the ones that are wrong, even though they are my credits and I should know the details. Whoever did this got the shows correct, but wrong episodes and wrong characters, and in a a few cases, such minor visibility, I'd have never put them up. You'd think a company owned by Amazon would want the right stuff there so they can advertise the appropriate products on the pages, but logic doesn't work there at all...Oh and back on Grey's I have a badge with my picture and name on it that's part of the costume.

Another recurring role has been as the typecast artist in a 1960 and 1962 Ad Agency on Mad Men for season's 1-3, but being that they are in a different agency with the 4th season, I'm not there along with the other office workers and secretaries. Of course being the real deal (I was an art director in Manhattan in the 70's) I know that as an artist for an agency, I'd have followed my account executives whereever they ended up, so it is kind of annoying I was dropped along with the secretaries, as that wouldn't be how it would really play. Oh well. (Mad Men season 4 is currently filming for those who'd like to know).

I'll be making some new pages here soon so will get a better listing of what I've worked on over the past 6 years, and more accurate then IMDB. If I make it a full list I'll include everyting, maybe with some notes, just to see the multitude of shows I've gotten to work on. (So rather than 1 show for N-LA or Mad Men and a couple for Grey's there would be every episode during those periods plus many other shows and films , basically , it'll be in the hundreds).

Oh, and I'm AFTRA now too, the other union...
